122-1 Variable Speed Turbine Generator
Category
Electrical & Mechanical
Description
The high efficiency power generation system, which can operate under variable heads and flows, is developed by applying variable speed control technologies, used for rotating equipment, on Francis turbine generating system. The annual output can be increased at the variable head site, compared with the constant speed Francis turbine generating system, since the eficiencies under partial load and variable head operatrions are improved by applying this technology.
Features & Advantages
Achieved the high efficicency under variable head and flow. Cost performance is expected for the following sites:
- More than 35% head variation.
- Resevoirs where water levels vary between maximum and minimum multiple times anually.
- Unit is operated mostly under low head and large flow
