What is IEA Hydro doing in Phase 6 (2020 - 2025)?
In Phase 6 IEA Hydro will contribute to a better global understanding of the essential role hydropower will play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Hydropower will not only provide energy but enable the integration of new renewables into electricity grids by providing flexiblity and storage. Innovative technologies and market opportunities are key aspects. New Tasks focus on Hidden Hydro (Task XVI), lead by Switzerland, Climate Change Resilience (Task XVII), lead by Japan, and Basin Water Utilization (Task XVIII), lead by China.
Detailed information about these activities can be obtained by going to the individual Task page.
