Technology Collaboration Programme by IEA

Participating Countries

The IEA Hydropower TCP brings together participating countries and organizations committed to advancing hydropower as a cornerstone of secure, sustainable energy systems. Current members represent a diverse mix of regions and hydropower contexts, contributing technical expertise, policy insight, and real-world experience.

Through joint research tasks and knowledge exchange, participants collaborate on innovation, sustainability, system integration, and the evolving role of hydropower in modern power systems. This international cooperation enables members to address shared challenges, accelerate learning, and deliver practical outcomes that support informed decision-making and long-term energy transitions.

Some activities are collaborative ventures between the TCP and other hydropower organisations.

See Current Activities for detailed information on the work of all Tasks and how you can become involved.

Who can join?

Participants in the IEA Hydropower TCP are nominated by the Contracting Parties, and represent government departments, national energy agencies, academic, research or scientific organisations.
